The Book of Mormon is a history of the people who lived on this American continent and the commandments given them by God. God also have these same commandments to the people living on the continent that Christ lived. The book, which resulted from these people and the commandments, is known as the Bible. I know that God loves all people. He didn't want any of them to be without the laws which would bring them happiness here on earth, and in the after-life, as these laws would help them earned their way back into His presence forever.
We know that many of the plain and precious things have been removed from the Bible. Throughout history rulers have had laws removed because they were not following them. Since the people did not have copies of the bible, nor could they read, they had to rely on what the church/state rulers told them. Today we still have the complete law in the stick of Ephraim, as it is called in the Bible, or better known as The Book of Mormon
(Ezekiel 37: 15-17).
I know this book to be the word of God. I still believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. You need to know for yourself whether the Book of Mormon is true or not. There is a promise to you in the back of the book in Moroni 10: 4 - 5. 1 testify this promise works. All you need to do is: 1. Study these things out in your mind 2. Make a decision for yourself as to whether it is true or not, then
3. Ask God if your decision was right.
You have the right to get personal revelation from your God, not only for yourself but for your family on any aspect of life. God will let you know the truth of all things with "the burning of the bosom," which is a good, warm, peaceful feeling and a knowledge that it is true. God also gives us "no" answers. This is "a stupor of thought," where the thing which was wrong is forgotten. Personal revelation is a gift to you from God, and so is having the plain and precious things that were lost from the Bible, which are still in the Book of Mormon. I hope you will come to cherish this book as much as I do.
Sincerely,
|
