Get Proper Calcium and Protein in Your Diet

- Too much animal protein coupled with the lack of enough calcium equals
twice the greater likelihood of broken hips from osteoporosis.
- Women consuming one serving of meat per day and the calcium in less than 1
1/2c. of milk has twice the chance of hip breakage from osteoporosis than
other women.
- Protein needed daily . . .
- 50 grams of milk or 3 glasses of milk
- 6 servings of starchy foods
- 3 servings of vegetables
- The addition to the above diet of 3 oz. of chicken or 21 g. of meat is
highly suspected of draining calcium from the bones. There is 50% too much
protein for the day.
- Women need to take 300 mg. Of calcium or a supplement.
- Women who are fifty or older should switch to orange juice fortified with
calcium plus the 300 mg. of a calcium supplement.
- Women need 50 grams of protein per day. Men need 63 grams.
